Preston Gibson Heads Solution Delivery for DPC

Digital Press Consortium has named Preston Gibson as Vice President of Solution Delivery.

CAPE MAY, NJ – Preston Gibson has been named Vice President of Solution Delivery for the Digital Press Consortium. In this role, Gibson will direct deployment and support of DPC platforms and provide consulting for DPC members to ensure online technology is driving strong operational performance.

Gibson has been working with the DPC in various capacities since it was spun-off from Herald Newspapers in 2007. He has served as Director of Development for Herald Newspapers since 2001. During Gibson’s tenure, the Herald has been transformed from a weekly paste-up operation to a 24/7 multi-media enterprise. In a tumultuous period for the newspaper industry, Herald Newspapers has enjoyed significant growth, with a compound annual growth rate of more than ten times the industry average. Most of this growth has been associated with Web-based initiatives powered by the DPC’s applied technology, under Gibson’s direction. Concerning Gibson’s appointment, Ben Hall, DPC’s President, said, “Preston has played a pivotal role in guiding DPC’s corporate evolution and directing the attendant success at the Herald. DPC is eager to share Preston’s results-oriented experience with others.”
“Sustaining and enhancing the newspaper industry’s vitality will require reaching more people and tapping new sources of revenue,” according to Gibson. He continued, “Fortunately, the Web allows us to reach both deeper into our communities and farther beyond our communities than ever before. The Consortium is eager to help newspapers extend their audience reach and expand their advertiser base.”
