Q: Why do my premium listings lose their pictures and more info tab, etc, and does not appear at the top of the search results?
A: Make sure you set the contract expiration for a date in the future. On this date, the listing will be demoted to a basic listing but all of the data is not lost. Make sure you set up contract expiration notifications on each listing so there are no surprises.
Q: I made a change to the title of the listing but how come it does not show in search results?
A: Any changes to a profile are only updated once an hour in search results. This is because the search indexer runs at the top of the hour. The changes are made immediatley on the profile pages, but will take up to one hour in search results. This includes any fields that are in search results (name, address, phone number, etc) as well as the listing type. In other words, if you upgrade a basic to premium, it will not show up as a premium in search results for up to one hour.
Q: How do I allow a client to manage their own marketplace listing?
A: If a registered user (authenticated visitor role) is granted authorship (in the "authored by" field), he can edit author-defined content for his own listing when logged-in. At the listing, the "edit" tab will appear - below the listing on a SERP o above the listing. Listing type, contract expiration, publishing options and ratings and review settings are not author-defined fields.
Q: I set a "clean path" for the URL for the marketplace listing and I am taken to a Page Not Found. Why?
A: Currently, there is a bug when you specify a clean URL and process the form. The form wants to take you to the old URL, which does not exist. Manually enter the URL you specified (www.yourDPCmarketplace.com/cleanpath) to access the profile to continue.
Q: Why does my logo look skewed in search results?
A: More than likely, your logo is a lot wider or taller than the default 3:2 aspect ratio. That does not necessarily mean that logos have to have that exact width to height ratio. If one ratio is a lot longer than the other, the alloted space for the other side might not accomdate it for the image preset. One solution would be to make it a standard practice to create all logos at a 3:2 ratio, such as 300x200 pixels.
Q: Why do some of my photos in the pictures tab autocrop?
A: We use a module that creates image presets for all previews of pictures to make them all look consistent. This specific preset is 3:2 width to height ratio, which is the standard ratio for photos from a digital camera. If you upload a vertical image, the preset will crop the top and bottom off to make it 3:2, and if you upload an already cropped photo that is wider than 3:2, it will fill in the gaps with black bars, much like watching a widescreen 16:9 movie on a standard 4:3 television. If you need to use a vertical shot, make sure the focal point of the image is in the middle vertically. Remember, the full version of the image is viewable once clicked. If the focal point is not, you should recrop the photo at 3:2 around the focal point.
Q: How do I create a SWF flash paper for menus and special offers?
A: This tab requires a SWF flash file, which is auto-embedded into the tab after its uploaded...
